A day in the life of a social media manager:

  • Creating written and visual organic and paid content

  • Preparing and managing and scheduling an editorial calendar

  • Live coverage of events

  • Monitoring comments, replies, and direct messages

  • Delivering and analyzing social media reporting on impressions and engagements for posts and campaigns

  • Facilitating paid social media ads for lead generation and brand awareness including creating assets, and implementing targeting and budget strategies.

As the Sens content team's resident "Instagram expert" I helped create a style guide for our page to differentiate content across social platforms, reduced sponsored “noise”, and introduced Instagram stories into our narrative.

I have worked with social media influencers to promote the Senator’s marketing initiatives to reach new audiences beyond hockey fans including the food, fashion, family, and francophone communities. I lead the re-branding our company’s LinkedIn page with weekly updates, employee headshots for personal profiles, newly designed cover photos, and interviewed various staff and stakeholders for our profile series going “behind the scenes” of an NHL organization.

All-Star content.

From gathering inspiration for voting campaign graphics to the final sign-off boomerang - one of my favourite projects I’ve worked on was the 2020 All-Star Campaign and All-Star Game in St. Louis. This was a more fun and free-for-all project that let me take the reigns in creating organic content solely for enjoyment without any ties to wins, losses, or sponsorships.

The challenge of taking fans on Anthony Duclair and Brady Tkachuk’s journey in St. Louis from at home in Ottawa forced me to work with the resources I had without being able to shoot my own live content. It was a special experience being able to document these players’ first All-Star Game while trying to create fresh non-stop engaging content across an entire weekend.
